The Anacondas rock Paradiso
On September 4th The Anacondas played for a big
crowd of crazed fanatics in
the world famous Paradiso club in Amsterdam. This gig was reviewed
in a
magazine called LiveXS. Read it if you can. Boy, do they speak
the truth!
Special thanks goes out to the group of dancing girls who spontaniously
climbed on
stage and started hopping around like a bunch of go-go girls. We
loved it!
Germany Tour
Last August The Anacondas did a cool little tour
in Germany. They usually head eastwards
for long weekends but this time they did 7 shows in a row. It was
a succes and the boys
will be back for a similar trip soon.
Clash Compilation inspired by
The Anacondas
A group of American fanatics of the legendary band
The Clash are compiling a
record with songs by this band covered by various artists. The
idea for this started
when they heard a dutch surfband (...) on the radio with a song
called
"The guns of Brixton".They contacted us and we immediately gave
our ok to this
fantastic project. We'll keep you informed about the release which
will be
somewhere in 2005.
Gear Talk
Johhny Torpedo stumbled upon a real classic among
Fender amps: The SuperSix
Reverb. He bought it after hearing the absolutely fair price. The
sound is
overwhelming and it looks like a nuclear power amp daluxa!!!
Messerschmitt changed his Ludwigs from a 2002 model to an original
1968
super-classic in the ultra cool finish: Oyster Black Pearl.
Pete Python spend a buck and a half on a seventies Ampeg rig. His
classic (Italian!)
leslie speakercabinet was wrecked during the infamous "open-air-wedding-show"
in the Amsterdam Flevopark. At this occasion their buddy Frank
(aka: Arsenico
on trumpet) married a cool chick called Liras. Check out all this
superb equipment
at the next Anaconda freak out show!
Splitsingle with Daikaiju in reprint
This highly sought after 7" vinyl goodie was originaly
planned as merchandise for audiences in
the USA during the 2003 tour. A co-production by Migoto Radiation
and Surf-a-Delic.
It features "El nino" by The Anacondas in a way cool analog version
and the amazing
"The Daikaiju who loved me" by Daikaiju.
Sold out for the moment but soon back by popular
demand. The disc will be cut in Nashville just like the original.
Wanna own one? You bet ya!

Live at KFJC radio, California 2003
One of the highlights of the 2003 USA tour was
the live radiobroadcast at the famous
Phil Dirt show. The Anacondas played a wicked set and the tapes
have a supreme audio
quality. The underground department of Surf-a-Delic wants to cut
this to CD and help
satisfy even more of your Anaconda needs. Read the review of this
show at
reverb central .
The Anacondas in the charts at IUMA
At
iuma.com , a site that offers free MP3 downloads, you can find some obscure
material of the band. The Anacondas remain (for over 2 years) in
the top 10 of the most
downloaded surfbands out of hundreds. If you haven't checked this
out yet then go for it
now.
The Anacondas in the USA 2003 - The Movie
It looks like it will take some time before this
is really gonna happen. The 45 hours of
digital video shot during the first 3 weeks of the 9.500 mile (24
shows) tour by
Freddy Spaghetty and Gert-J hasn't even been fully checked out
yet. Before the producers
start editing this into some sort of workable format might take
some time. However,
the footage that they stumbled upon so far is highly entertaining
stuff and, in the end, will
make for a superb Anacondas movie. Let's wait and see.
Travoltas' Woody helps injured Messerschmitt
After the hard touring schedule of last summer
Messerschmitt ended up with an elbow the
size of a coconut. With a few gigs still lined up in the area his
friend and colleague Woody
took over the drumseat for a show in Maastricht. Woody did an excellent
job and proved
to be a real professional. He sat in with the band for only one
rehearsal before climbing
the stage. More on Woody and his band Travoltas at
travoltas.com.
