			<title>Merry Christmas from The Anacondas</title>
			<link>http://www.anacondas.nl/surf/pivot/entry.php?id=164</link>

<description>First off we have to announce some cancelations:
The Anacondas' shows for new years eve in Alkmaar and the show in Bassy (Berlin) on January 2nd are canceled.
The Anacondas show on new years eve in Amsterdam is going to happen though, so no worries about that one (see Tour Dates for more info).
End of Aril/beginning May 2010 will be on tour again so German fans keep your patience, we'll be back!

Our old friends from the south of the United States Daikaiju just got in touch with us. They're doing a European tour in April 2010, and we are making plans to do some shows togther here in Holland, watch out for that.
Summer 2010 The Anacondas will be touring the USA again with Daikaiju after seven long years.

We had some troubles with releasing our upcoming album Bad Buzz- Lost in the Space Age.
Due to the credit crisis alternative record labels are willing to take no risks signing new bands.
We decided to put it out ourselves and start our own record label. We were thinking to name it Anaconda Records, but unfortunately a Spanish metal label carries that name already so we have to come up with something else cool. Release is set early 2010.

Meanwhile the show must go on and that's why we're rehearsing every weekend. The Anacondas came up with a couple of new tracks..
Besides some originals we're working on, we got some new workouts on &quot;Amapola&quot; by The Spotnicks and &quot;Goulash&quot; by Satan's Pilgrims.

Merry Christmas to everyone and hope to see you soon.

<description>The Anacondas did the final mixes and mastering for their upcoming album called: Lost in the Space Age (or Bad Buzz, we're not really sure yet). Right now we're working on the record sleeve, which will contain artwork by Amsterdam photographer and filmer Rene Nuyens. We still haven't found a label for release, but we're in it much too far, so it's got to come out.
One of the album tracks &quot;La Danza de los Muertos&quot; is accompanied by a crazy video clip directed by Aart Kramer.

The Anacondas will perform at the &quot;Rocket Cinema&quot; festival on October 29 in Amsterdam.
During this festival old monster movies will be shown at different locations through out the city for a week.
Several bands and dee-jays (including The Anacondas) are making a new score for these movies. The Anacondas' film music for &quot;King Kong versus Godzilla&quot; (Japan, 1963) can be experienced live during the screening, with the help of Ir Vendermeulen (sax &amp; theremin) and Juan Pablo Pepito (percussion). Not to be missed! More info at &quot;Tour Dates&quot;.

<description>Some weekends ago we spend our evenings remixing our upcoming album. Hearing and mixing the tracks over and over again, but what a blast! Woody and Peter (from the Yland Studio) did the mastering last monday, so the new CD -which got a 'space age' theme- is getting ready for take-off!

Here's some titles of the tracks: Soul Stomp, Bad Buzz, La Dansa de los Muertes, Hopped Up Rocket, Cannibal, Surfari, Sacrifice, Casbah etc.
14/15 tracks in total. Most originals, some covers.

Last saturday we did a show at the Young Art Festival in Beverwijk. The festival was a cool happening, with lots of theatre and live music.
Set in the open air in this beautiful park The weather was nice... It was a night to remember. It was extremely cool to see our old friends and family again.
Maybe we can team up again when The Anacondas play the 'Instuif' on the beach of Wijk Aan Zee (near Beverwijk) august the first.
See ya,

			<title>Mexican skeletons</title>

<description>The Anacondas did a mini-tour to Germany where we got to meet Calaveras at the mighty &quot;Atomino&quot; club (Chemnitz) and one day later we played at the supercool 'White Trash Fastfood&quot; in Berlin.
This place is awesome: a Chinese restaurant setting, a garage-band cellar, there's even a tattoo parlor.
All these extras didn't distract The Anacondas, cause we simply did what we came for: to rock da place of course.
Look for the Pictuers later on this site. We'd like to thank the Calaveras and Sarah B. for their help.

We got fired from our label Sonic Rendezvous records.
So that means we have to find another label to release our latest album, which drummer Woody Stix is re-mixing at the moment.
We added the crazy voices of Steve Korver (Canadian wrter/journalist living in Amsterdam) and his friend Caty on some tracks.
The Anacondas' (featuring Steve) workout on &quot;Hopped Up Mustang&quot; by Arlen Sanders is gonna be just great.

The Anacondas managed to get a E3000,- government fund for producing a video clip of one of our new album tracks.
It's gonna be a stop-motion animation flick made by Aart Kramer (camera) and Arlet (art direction).
With Mexican skeletons all around!

<description>The Anacondas spend the whole last week to record songs for our new upcoming album, which will be released later this year.
The sessions took place at the &quot;IJland&quot; studio, the very same studio we recorded our previous albums &quot; The Anacondas&quot; (2003) and &quot;Snakin' All Over&quot; (2005).

Other cool bands that recorded at IJland are a.o. The Sadies, Bettie Serveert and T99, so you know IJland stands for high quality sound.

We recorded and mixed a total of 15 tracks, with help from guest musicians Vendermeulen (West Hell 5) on sax and theremin, and Milan (The Benelux) on trumpet.
Peter did a great job engineering and mixing the whole thing. Thanks again for your hard work and patience, Peter!

We had a lot of fun during the recordings and we used lots of instruments and equipment, like Fender Jazz Bass, Fender 1965 Jazzmaster, Fender 1963 Jaguar, Fender 1996 Stratocaster, Fender Telecasters, Ludwig drums, Evans drumheads, percussion, flute, Moog synth, Moog theremin, Hammond organ, Fender Rhodes, Landola and spanish accoustic guitars. Rat distortion, saxophone, trumpet, Fender reverb, Fender 1965 Twin Reverb reissue, Fender Super Six amp, Vox AC 30, Elka amp, Dunlop picks and backing vocals... are you still reading? You geek.

Well, we hope to release it in a couple of months so you can hear what we are talking about.
Soon more pictures of the sessions on this site.
Stay tuned!

			<title>Hell Ride &amp; Transistor Radio</title>

<description>Maybe you know by now The Anacondas are huge movie freaks.
Every once in a while we check out the latest cult movies in the Amsterdam cinemas. Sometimes we even turn our rehearsel studio into an alternative movie theatre and enjoy the flicks Pete Python brings along.

Last weekend we were amazed by the biker-movie &quot;Hell Ride&quot;, produced by Quentin Tarantino a.o. The film ain't no parody on biker movies from the 60's or 70's, but is totally the real deal. The soundtrack alone is worth the effort: cool surf, instrumentals by fuzz king Davie Allan and oldies from Les Baxter (Hell's Belles!). The movie is filled with cool cars and bikes, hot chicks and gang violence. Check it out when you got the chance.

The Anacondas now have their bi-weekly radio show on the &quot;Transistor Radio&quot; show at Stads FM on saturday night from 24.00 - 02.00 h.
Stads FM is a local radio station for Amsterdam and surroundings, provided by Salto Broadcasting Amsterdam. The show can be listened online too. Check the Links page for more info.
So tune in for the coolest surf, rock 'n' roll and psychedelic music. The other Transistor Radio shows are interesting too, ranging from funk to garage.

			<title>Merry Christmas from The Anacondas</title>

<description>Yeah, winter's coming up, pretty soon we we'll be on our snowboard breaks. But before that, lemme tell you what's happening...

Just on this day that we decided to move to a new rehearsel studio, our current studio somewhere in the suburbs of Amsterdam was at fire. Fortunately for The Anacondas there was no fire damage to our equipment, hopefuly there's not much water damage either.
We did one of our coolest gigs ever: backin' up for the Burlesque night at the &quot;Comedy Theater&quot;. Check the 'Pictures' page here for an impression.

The Anacondas are featured in Noel Hudson's &quot; The Band Name Book&quot;. And unoficial Dutch surf music guru Eddy Luca's gonna put out out a book about the history of Dutch surf. Including The Anacondas of course.
Now we're talking 'bout books: be sure to pick up a copy of Matt Warshaw's &quot;Surf Movie Tonite&quot;. It is filled with great vintage movie poster art; something new was definitely happening back then. Here in Amsterdam you can get it at the famous &quot;Scheltema&quot; bookstore.

Finally, we like to remember our old friend and fellow musician Michel, who passed away not so long ago. Before we were The Anacondas, Michel always crossed our path in our former bands. Below is a picture of Michel (bald, red t-shirt) while drummer for C.K.N. (Johnny Torpedo's old hardcore band) at the C.K.N. reunion show 2005 (Parkhof, Alkmaar).

Life got its ups and downs, nevertheless we like to wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
Com join us at our X-mas party at Panama, Wednesday night the 24 th in Amsterdan.
See ya,
